Cadeler has secured a three-year contract with Vestas for the vessel Wind Keeper, which the company has just taken delivery of. The contract, if all options are exercised, is worth over 380 million euros, or close to 3 billion kroner.
“Wind Keeper brings immediate value to Cadeler’s fleet. Her dual capacity across installation and service tasks makes her a central asset as we support the construction and long-term maintenance of offshore wind farms in the coming years,” says Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler.
Cadeler announced last month its agreement to purchase the newly built jack-up vessel, Wind Keeper. She is the eighth vessel in Cadeler’s growing fleet.
“We see increasing demand in Europe for flexible, high-performance vessels that can support both operations and maintenance tasks as well as installation tasks, and she fits that profile perfectly,” says Mikkel Gleerup.
Wind Keeper departed from China en route to Europe earlier in July, where, ahead of the contract start in Q1 2026, she will undergo tailored upgrades to enhance her operational capacity and align her onboard capabilities with the rest of Cadeler’s fleet.
She will be equipped with securing devices for three sets of Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines and will be upgraded to support installations in the growing 15 MW segment.
