Cadeler lands shipping company’s first fixed million contract in Taiwan

The installation contractor has entered into a firm contract for the transport and installation of offshore wind turbines for 70-80 million euros for the offshore wind project Formosa 4 in Taiwan Area, China

Cadeler has just entered into a firm contract for the transport and installation of 35 offshore wind turbines of 14 MW for the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan Area, China in 2028.

The task is expected to bring Cadeler 70-80 million euros (522-596 million DKK), the company announces in a press release.

The customer is Synera Renewable Energy, and the contract includes the transport and installation of 35 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW turbines at the Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Farm.

— With support from our team in Taipei, we are steadily building our presence and pipeline in the region. Two vessels are currently sailing on contracts in the area, says CEO Mikkel Gleerup.

Cadeler’s new M-class installation vessel ‘Wind Maker is already underway with its first installation task in Taiwan Area, China for Ørsted.

The new firm contract is the first from Synera’s reservation agreement with the contractor from September 2024, which was then estimated to be worth 200 million euros.

Synera has another project coming up in the region, and negotiations for that project are continuing, writes Cadeler.

The collaboration with Synera Renewable Energy is anchored in Cadeler’s office in Taipei and is part of the installation contractor’s strategy for the Asia-Pacific region.
