According to a statement from Cadeler, the Danish company specialized in the transport and installation of offshore wind turbines, has formalized an agreement with Ocean Winds to carry out the installation of 26 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW turbines at the BC-Wind wind farm, located in the Polish Baltic Sea.
The contract has an estimated value between €49 million and €58 million (approximately $57.8 million to $68.4 million).
This new agreement follows a previous contract signed in February 2025 that secured vessel availability for this project. Once completed, BC-Wind will reach a total capacity close to 390 MW, which will allow it to supply clean energy to nearly half a million homes in Poland.
Located 23 km from the Polish coast and north of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, this is the first project that Ocean Winds develops in Poland and will be fundamental for the country’s expansive plans regarding offshore wind energy.
The installation phase is scheduled to begin in 2028 and is expected to last around four months. Cadeler will use one of its specialized vessels from the Polish port of Gdańsk.
Although the two companies had previously collaborated on the Moray West offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland, this is their first direct contractual partnership.
Cadeler has also been selected for other important projects within Polish territory; one notable one is the Baltic Power Project, considered the country’s first offshore wind farm.
Furthermore, it recently signed another contract with Ørsted and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna to transport and install Siemens Gamesa turbines also within the Baltica 2 project, which is expected to be completed towards the end of 2027.
Finally, Cadeler reached an agreement with Equinor and Polenergia to work on two additional wind farms: Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3; these operations are anticipated to begin during the year 2027.
