The port of Cádiz has recorded 227 cruise ship calls in the first nine months of the year, 17 more than in the same period of the previous year, which represents an 8% growth in the number of ships. Regarding passengers, between January and September, 430,065 cruise passengers have arrived, 9% less than in 2024 due to the reduction in the size of the ships, to promote premium or deluxe cruises, which are smaller but have higher purchasing power.
In this category falls, among others, LA BELLE DE CADIX, which with 30 calls, is the cruise that has called the most times in the Bay of Cadiz until September. It is followed by the MSC MÚSICA with 16 calls and the ARVIA with 10. For 2025, the port of Cádiz has scheduled 335 calls, of which 2024 are of the Deluxe or Premium category. According to the latest study carried out by the Junta de Andalucía on cruise tourism in the region, the average spending per cruise passenger per day in a port of call is set at 40.6 euros and can reach up to 200 euros in the case of a homeport.
