From the state sector of the Sea FSC-CCOO, it has been communicated in a statement that, following the announcement of the sale of the company Armas-Trasmediterránea to Baleària Eurolíneas Marítimas and to DFDS Iberia, contacts have been maintained with the CEO of Armas, with officials from Trasmediterránea, with the general director of DFDS and with the president of Baleària, who have conveyed to them the commitment to maintain employment.

The union states that “we are facing a moment of vital importance, for the stability and job continuity of more than 1,000 workers and from the perspective of the Spanish merchant marine, regarding the maintenance of the Spanish flag (Special Register of Ships and Shipping Companies of the Canary Islands), for the ships that are going to be transferred to the new companies.

Although the operation is pending authorization by the National Commission of the Market and Competition, CCOO assures that “we will ensure the commitment to maintain employment, respect for the labor agreements reached and the maintenance of the ships’ registration under the Spanish flag, both for the fleet workers and those on land”.
