Chilean ports mobilized a total of 75,845,472 tons of cargo from January to August 2025, which was mostly influenced by the export of products, according to data reviewed by PortalPortuario based on the records of the offices of the Servicio Nacional de Aduanas.
Compared to the same time frame of the previous year, Chilean port facilities transferred 74,917,200 tons of cargo, which accounts for an increase of 928,272 tons or a rise of 1.24%.
In the breakdown of the most recent amount, 42,598,613 tons correspond to exports (-0.36%) through Chilean terminals and ports, while 33,246,859 tons of cargo correspond to imports (+3.37%).
The statistics from the customs offices indicated that Caldera was the point where the greatest amount of cargo – by volume – was mobilized abroad, which amounted to 5,478,537 tons, followed by Patillos with 4,451,108 tons and then by San Antonio with 3,443,739 tons.
Meanwhile, the main entry points were San Antonio with 7,936,325 tons of cargo, while in second place was Quintero with 5,460,864 tons and Mejillones with 5,267,744 tons.
Regarding the 33,246,859 tons exported by Chilean port facilities in 2025, the main product mobilized to international markets was Copper ores and their concentrates with 9,761,748 tons, followed by Iron ores and their concentrates with 8,481,690 tons and Rock salt, salt from saltworks and sea salt with 5,932,443 tons.
For its part, when analyzing the main imported products in CIF amount (US$), Diesel oil ranked first with USD 3,005,576,495, Motor vehicles for the transport of persons with USD 2,430,630,578 and Motor vehicles for the transport of goods with USD 1,930,390,243.
