The port facilities of Chile will serve as a reference to enhance the infrastructure and logistics operations of the Province of Santa Fe, Argentina.
An institutional and business delegation, led by Governor Maximiliano Pullaro and executives of Terminal Puerto Rosario (TPR), will carry out an official mission on August 13 and 14 to study the operation of terminals specialized in handling mining cargo.
The initiative seeks to position the Port of Rosario as an exit node for the country’s mining production – complementing the agreement signed in July with the province of San Juan – and to strengthen the use of the Paraná-Paraguay waterway as a competitive logistics corridor at the regional level.
The spokesperson for the Government of Santa Fe, Virginia Coudannes, highlighted that the trip aims to generate operational conditions to attract this cargo, as well as to exchange technical experiences and evaluate management tools applicable in the provincial facilities.
The Santa Fe delegation will also include the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini; the Secretary of Transport and Logistics, Mónica Alvarado; the president of the Administrative Entity of the Port of Rosario (Enapro), Graciela Alabarce; the mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin, and a group of local businessmen.
The work itinerary in Chile includes visits in the Antofagasta Region to the facilities of Puerto Antofagasta, Puerto Angamos and Terminal Graneles del Norte (TGN). Subsequently, the delegation will move to Valparaíso to tour the Terminal Pacífico Sur (TPS) and will hold a meeting with Richard von Appen, president of Ultramar, the majority shareholder group of TPR.
