China News Service, Wuhan, September 30 (Liang Ting, Xu Chen) A China-Europe freight train (Wuhan), organized by Hubei Port Group and fully loaded with complete vehicle knockdown (CKD) kits, medical supplies, kitchenware, and other goods, slowly departed from Xianglushan Station on the 30th. It will pass through the Alashankou port and head towards Moscow, Russia. The inaugural departure of the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) from Xianglushan Station forms a “dual-station simultaneous launch” pattern with Wujiashan Station, further unleashing the route advantages and synergistic effects of the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan).
This train is loaded with 54 large containers. One part of these large containers arrived in Wuhan from Taicang, Jiangsu via the Yangtze River, was unloaded and loaded onto the train at the Yangluo Port terminal. The other part consists of local Hubei cargo, which was assembled at the first-phase facility of Yangluo International Port’s rail-water intermodal transport before being loaded onto the train departing from Xianglushan Station.
The seamless connection between Xianglushan Station and the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan) enables cargo from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to flow to Europe and Central Asia via Yangluo Port and then the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan). Simultaneously, cargo from Europe and Central Asia can be shipped to eastern coastal areas of China via the “rail-water intermodal transport” at Yangluo Port. As the second originating station for the China-Europe freight train (Wuhan), compared to the previous model which required transiting through Wujiashan Station, Xianglushan Station can reduce transportation time by approximately 2 days and overall costs by about 15%, providing Hubei’s foreign trade enterprises with more stable and efficient logistics options.
This shipment adopted a “direct customs declaration, no transshipment needed, one ticket for shipping” rail-water intermodal transport method. Wuhan Xingang Customs implemented a “green channel” for inspection through an “advanced declaration + scheduled inspection” mechanism, achieving instant cargo release. The Wuhan Railway Bureau provided full support in allocating transport capacity resources to ensure the train’s timely assembly, hook-up, and punctual departure. China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. managed the train dispatch and safety guidance according to the train schedule. Hubei Port Group’s Hanou International Company tailored a “one-stop direct” rail-water intermodal transport solution based on enterprise requirements.
The “dual-station simultaneous launch” from Xianglushan Station and Wujiashan Station will strengthen Wuhan’s function as a central international logistics hub for collection and distribution, as well as its radiating capacity, accelerating the construction of the Central China regional consolidation center for China-Europe freight trains. Simultaneously, it creates a fast “shipping” channel for foreign trade enterprises in Hubei Province and surrounding areas. (End)
