China Marine Bunker (Chimbusco) and Shenergy Group signed a procurement agreement for marine fuel on 23 June, securing 6,000 tonnes of methanol in what the supplier describes as the largest single green methanol procurement transaction in China to date.
A delivery ceremony was held on 24 June at the Shanghai Jinshan Vopak Terminal, marking the formal handover of the cargo under the agreement.
Chimbusco holds official designation as a methanol bunkering service provider at both Shanghai and Ningbo. The company notes that it has been advancing its methanol bunkering capabilities across a number of Chinese ports, having completed demonstration projects at Shanghai Yangshan, Dalian, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Qingdao, and Shenzhen.
The Shenergy deal follows the delivery on 5 June of Chimbusco’s newly built dual-phase stainless-steel methanol bunkering barge, Zhong Ran LV Neng 85. The vessel is designed for multi-port operations across China and is intended to strengthen the company’s green fuel supply capabilities.
