With the early delivery of the LNG Qing Cheng, the Chinese shipyard signs the best annual performance ever in the segment

Beijing – Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has set a new record for Chinese LNG carrier shipbuilding, achieving nine deliveries in a single year. The latest unit to leave the shipyard is the Qing Cheng, a 174,000 m³ LNG carrier, built for the third phase of the LNG transport project promoted by Cosco Shipping and PetroChina International.
The ship, developed entirely by the shipyard and delivered ahead of schedule, is the seventh large LNG carrier destined for this program. At 295 meters long and 45 meters wide, it was classed by LR and CCS and integrates low evaporation technologies, reduced consumption, high reliability, and advanced environmental performance.
The project represents the first fully autonomous Chinese initiative in the LNG segment, the result of collaboration between Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation, PetroChina International, Hudong-Zhonghua and Kunlun Financial Leasing, with financing entirely in RMB.
Hudong-Zhonghua thus consolidates its role as a national reference, having already built 43 LNG carriers for Cosco Shipping Energy and with another 21 units currently under construction.
