From the Ningbo Municipal Transportation Bureau, it was learned that in the first half of this year, Ningbo’s transportation fixed asset investment reached 47.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.2%. Among this, highway construction completed investments of 16.999 billion yuan, up 40.9% year-on-year, while waterway transport completed investments of 3.253 billion yuan, up 38.4% year-on-year.
On July 20, at the construction site of the Yin-Feng viaduct for the Ningbo southern section of the Yongtaiwen Expressway expansion project, workers were busy yet orderly carrying out concrete pouring operations. The rapid progress of this project exemplifies how Ningbo’s transportation authorities are focusing on annual targets, identifying key milestones, and accelerating construction efforts.
“We have implemented a chart-based battle plan for 35 major projects with investments exceeding 500 million yuan, using ‘fishbone diagrams’ to schedule tasks in reverse and advancing implementation through itemized lists. The project initiation rate for new projects has reached 61.5%,” said a relevant official from the Ningbo Municipal Transportation Bureau.
The progress of expressway construction projects continues to advance. Recent good news came from the construction site of the third phase of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway expansion in Ningbo: the first steel beam of the cross-harbor and Yongjiang super-large bridge was successfully hoisted, marking the official entry into the critical construction phase spanning the Yongjiang estuary. “The cast-in-place box girders for the offshore viaduct are progressing at a rate of one segment every eight days, and the Xiaojiajiang super-large bridge has begun upper structure construction,” said the project manager.
Additionally, the second phase of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway expansion in Ningbo and the first phase of the Liuheng Highway Bridge have opened to traffic, while the Ningbo section of the Yongzhou Expressway expansion has commenced construction. In the first half of this year, Ningbo’s expressway projects completed investments of 7.841 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 54.3%.
National and provincial highway construction is also progressing rapidly. Recently, the Cixi northern section of G228 successfully completed the pouring of the first precast box girder for its entire viaduct, marking the start of precast box girder construction. The Haishu section of G228 achieved the successful pouring of the No. 0 block for its cast-in-place beam over the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway, accelerating the project. The Xiangshan section of the Yuejingyang Bridge on G527 completed asphalt paving, reaching 92% of its construction progress, with completion and opening expected by the end of November.
In the first half of this year, Ningbo’s ordinary highway projects completed investments of 9.157 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.1%, with 15 projects commencing construction and five projects completed.
Waterway projects are advancing simultaneously. This year, the first phase of the main channel project in the Shihu Port Area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port has passed completion acceptance, while two projects, including the second phase of the Daxie Container Terminal, have fully commenced construction. Additionally, the supporting wharf project for the assembly base of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation’s Xiangshan large offshore wind power equipment industrial park has completed its main structure.
It is reported that in the next phase, Ningbo’s transportation authorities will continue to strengthen coordination and supervision for projects facing delays or difficulties, striving to exceed the annual investment target and achieve a successful year-end outcome.
