The shipping company announces that the new ships will be registered under the French flag

On the occasion of the twentieth edition of the Assises de l’Économie de la Mer, Rodolphe Saadé, chairman and chief executive officer of the Cma Cgm group, announced the entry into the fleet and the registration under the French flag of ten dual-fuel Liquefied Natural Gas ships, each with a significant capacity of 24,212 teu, among the largest and most energy efficient in the world.

The container ships, which will be delivered gradually starting in 2026, will serve two major French ports, Le Havre and Dunkerque, on the Asia-North Europe route, “strengthening Cma Cgm’s presence in France – explains Saadé – at a time when the sea is playing an increasingly strategic role in global economic and geopolitical dynamics”. The company has recruited an additional 135 French seafarers to manage these new ships, trained in particular at the French National Maritime Academy (Ensm).
