The short sea link strengthens trade flows in the Mediterranean and supports Tunisian exports of agricultural products
Marseille – The French company Cma Cgm announced the launch of a new weekly maritime service that will connect Sfax (Tunisia), Tanger Med (Morocco) and Valencia (Spain), coinciding with the start of the 2025–2026 Tunisian date export season.
Operated by the group’s Short Sea Lines Division, the service will guarantee Tunisian exporters faster and more reliable access to regional and global markets, with the first departure scheduled from Sfax on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The rotation will follow the Sfax–Tanger–Valencia–Sfax route.
Cma Cgm specified that the new line will offer direct connections to the main global destinations for dry and refrigerated goods, thanks to the hub ports of Tanger Med and Valencia CSP, and a dedicated link with Casablanca via the Morocco Shuttle (Mosht) service.
With this initiative, the company aims to further integrate Tunisia into the Mediterranean logistics network, offering a fast and reliable transport solution capable of supporting agricultural exports and strengthening trade between North Africa and Southern Europe.
