CMA CGM Opens First Storehouse for Lebanon Reefers

The CMA CGM group, the third largest container shipper by fleet capacity, has claimed to haveopened the first logistics storehouse in Lebanon’sBekaa valley in Taanayel to meet reefer customers’ demands.

The group is continuing its commitment to the economic development of the country by offering a “tailor-made logistics solution” dedicated to providing for therefrigerated container service needsof Lebanon’srichest agricultural region.

With a total area of 20,000 m2, the new CMA CGM logistics storehouse in Taanayel allows the storage of 1,000 empty containers (TEUs).

CMA CGM said it is responding to requests for further import and export from Lebanon’s largest agricultural area, with the logistics solution facilitating the recovery of empty containers to reduce costs and save time.

Located 50 kilometres from the port of Beirut and 124 kilometres from the port of Tripoli, the logistics storehouse of Taanayel of the CMA CGM Group is also at the crossroads of the Lebanese coast and Damascus on one of the most important trade routes in the Middle-East.

This location in the Bekaa valley is strategic for the import and export of fruit and vegetables as well as for other products for Arab countries including Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

CMA CGM’s Beirut office employs close to 200 people.
