CMI Weihai Shipyard Delivers GAC’s First Dual-Fuel Car Carrier

On November 24, the first 7000-car dual-fuel PCTC (Pure /Truck Carrier) “GLOBAL ACONCAGUA” (W0306), built by China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard for the shipowner GAC, was completed and delivered. Representatives from the GAC shipowner and the company signed the delivery documents respectively.

The ship has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a breadth of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters, and a service speed of 19 knots. The vessel is equipped with 12 car decks with a loading capacity of 7000 household cars. The car decks are divided into fixed and hoistable types, which will significantly enhance cargo handling efficiency and the vessel’s operational economic benefits. In terms of environmental protection, the ship adopts a green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly design concept. It is equipped with an advanced LNG dual-fuel system and a shaft generator system, utilizing multiple environmental technologies. It can significantly reduce the emissions of sulfur oxides, particulate matter, and carbon, meeting the International Maritime Organization’s TIER III emission standards, and possesses the advantages of being economical, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and efficient.

The “GLOBAL ACONCAGUA” is the seventh PCTC delivered by China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard following the EPS-7000 car series. This further strengthens the company’s capabilities in the field of PCTC and high-end shipbuilding, and also lays a solid foundation for continued and deepened cooperation with the GAC shipowner in the future.
