Yesterday morning, the Port Authority of Porto Heli was informed that a passenger-tourist vessel (P/T) with eight passengers and four crew members struck the Porto Heli pier during its mooring procedure.
A L.S.-EL.ACT patrol vehicle from land and an L.S.-EL.ACT patrol vessel were dispatched to the scene, which located the P/T vessel anchored inside the harbor with the passengers in good health. Subsequently, the diving vessel “SEIRIOS” L.P.CH. 1248 with a private diver on board also went to the area; following an inspection, the diver determined there was material damage to the vessel, while no marine pollution or water ingress was observed. The 1st Port Authority Department of Porto Heli of the Nafplio Port Authority prohibited the departure of the P/T vessel until a certificate of seaworthiness is presented by the competent ship surveyor.
