Conecta Logística presented the Radar Logístico de Chile, the first report characterizing the country’s logistics sector. Prepared by the Data Intelligence team, the report integrates into a single document the economic, operational, labor and environmental dimensions, offering a structured and visual overview of this sector.

The document positions logistics as an enabling pillar of the Chilean economy, whose contribution is close to 4% of national GDP and generates a multiplier effect of 2.5 dollars for every dollar invested.

“For the first time, Chile has a comprehensive view of its logistics sector in one place. Logistics is a silent enabler of the economy: it is behind every export, every product that reaches a region, and the country’s competitiveness. Making this data available to everyone — the public sector, businesses, and citizens — is contributing to ensuring that the decisions that affect us are made with better information,” said Mabel Leva Henríquez, executive director of Conecta Logística.

Future editions of the Radar Logístico will be strengthened by new sources such as the Ventanilla Única Marítima (Vumar) and the Sistema Integrado de Comercio Exterior (Sicex), which will provide greater precision regarding port operations and process traceability.

The report is the result of a process of collection, integration, cleaning, validation and standardization of data from public and private sources, coordinated through the Observatorio Logístico, the sector’s official data repository and a permanent technical collaboration initiative between the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT) and Conecta Logística.

“When sector information is scattered, decisions are made blindly. The value of systematizing this data is that it turns scattered figures into a common basis for making better decisions. That same work is what we need to bring to the regions: each territory has its own dynamics that today are not observed with the same depth, and that is why we are moving towards Regional Logistics Observatories,” said Mauricio Casanova Galli, director of Data Intelligence at Conecta Logística.

The Radar Logístico de Chile is sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications and supported by DP World, CIS Chile, Fepasa, Sitrans, Pentacrom, Agunsa, Grupo OET, ICB and Duoc UC.
