Must read

Conrad Industries announced its financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2026, as well as its backlog, figures highlighted by net income of USD 3.3 million and diluted earnings per share of USD 0.65 in the April-June period (compared with USD 5.8 million and USD 1.16, respectively, for the second quarter of 2025).

For the first half, the company reported net income of USD 6.5 million (USD 9.7 million) and diluted earnings per share of USD 1.29 (USD 1.93).

During the first six months of 2026, Conrad’s backlog increased by USD 196.4 million (USD 104 million), from USD 213.9 million to USD 292.8 million.

Since the end of the second quarter, and not reflected in the backlog as of June 30, 2026, the company has signed additional contracts worth USD 37.4 million, including the award of a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to design, build, test and deliver a new deck barge for the Vicksburg District.

Conrad Industries, founded in 1948 and headquartered in Morgan City, Louisiana, designs, builds and overhauls barges, dredges and dredging support equipment, tugboats, ferries, dry docks, lift boats, offshore supply vessels and other steel products for the commercial and government markets. The company offers ship repair and shipbuilding services at its five shipyards located in southern Louisiana and Texas.

Cecil A. Hernandez, Conrad’s president and chief executive officer, said that “while our financial results for the first half of 2026 reflect the impact of lower production volume compared to the prior year, we are encouraged by the continued improvement in project execution, backlog growth and the strength of our balance sheet. The growth in our backlog reflects sustained demand in government, infrastructure and commercial markets.”

“Looking ahead, our priorities remain the same: safely and efficiently execute our current backlog, expand profitable opportunities across all our markets and create long-term value for our shareholders, customers and employees. With five shipyards strategically located on the Gulf Coast, a growing portfolio of government projects and a strong reputation for quality and safety, we believe Conrad is well positioned to continue making progress,” Hernandez concluded.
