Vado Ligure – A new unit joins the Corsica Sardinia Ferries fleet, which continues its path of investment and growth, looking to the future. The Stena Vision, purchased from the Swedish company Stena Line, will be renamed Mega Serena. With a gross tonnage of approximately 39,200 tonnes and a capacity for up to 2000 passengers, after adaptation work, and over 600 vehicles (or 2000 linear meters for rolling cargo) the ship is equipped with the most modern technologies in terms of safety, sustainability, and performance. The ship is already equipped for shore-to-ship power connection during port stops.
This system reduces polluting emissions, noise, and vibrations, improving air quality and the acoustic impact in the port, contributing to the decarbonization of the maritime sector and the transition towards more “green” ports.
“The entry of the Mega Serena represents a further and fundamental step for our growth and confirms the constant commitment to an efficient, safe, and environmentally conscious service,” states Sébastien Romani, CEO of Corsica Sardinia Ferries, who continues “This new unit will allow us to improve the offer for our customers and to face market challenges with even more strength.”
