COSCO Shipping Ports, the state owned Chinese shipping conglomerate’s port operating arm, increased year-on-year first quarter net profit to 0.6 per cent to US$62.87 million, drawn on revenues of US$332.71 million, an increase of 1.4 per cent.

Affected by the Red Sea crisis, total throughput of Athens’ Piraeus Container Terminal decreased 11.4 per cent to 931,350 TEU.

For the three months ending March 31, total throughput of the terminals in China increased by 11.4 per cent to 25,225,841 TEU and accounted for 75.8 per cent of the group’s total throughput.

Total throughput of terminals in China increased 13.2 per cent to 7,506,619 TEU, accounting for 71.4 per cent of the group’s total throughput.

Firs quarter throughput of the Bohai Rim region increased 10 per cent to 11,610,844 TEU and accounted for 34.9 per cent of the group’s total.

As the foreign trade market continues to recover, the quarterly throughput of Dalian Container Terminal Co Ltd increased 10.1 per cent year on year.

Yangtze River Delta volume increased 15 per cent to 3,833,054 TEU and accounted for 11.5 per cent of the group’s total. Total throughput of the Yangtze River Delta region increased 18.9 per cent to 1,089,465 TEU and accounted for 10.4 per cent of the group’s total throughput.

With the recovery of foreign trade routes, the total throughput of Shanghai Mingdong Container Terminals Limited increased 12.8 per cent to 1,629,750 TEU.

During the period, total throughput in the southeast coast and others regions increased by 11.2 per cent to 1,400,623 TEU and accounted for 4.2 per cent of the group’s total throughput.

Throughput of southeast coast and others regions increased 27.6 per cent to 1,020,203 TEU and accounted for 9.7 per cent of total volume.

The increase was mainly due to the company’s acquisition of a 30 per cent interest in Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal, in which it now holds a 100 per cent.

Throughput of the Pearl River Delta region increased 9.3 per cent to 6,441,520 TEU and accounted for 19.4 per cent of the group’s total throughput.

Total throughput of the Pearl River Delta region increased by nine per cent to 1,873,865 TEU and accounted for 17.8 per cent of the group’s total throughput.

Guangzhou’s South China Oceangate Container Terminal Company to 1,412,986 TEU. Yantian International Container Terminals and Yantian International Container Terminals (Phase III) Limited strengthened its business marketing strategy, and its total throughput increased 8.1 per cent to 3,029,217 TEU.

During the period, total throughput of the southwest coast region increased by 20.3 per cent to 1,939,800 TEU, accounting for 5.8 per cent of the group’s throughput.

Total throughput in overseas terminals increased by five per cent to 8,036,381 TEU and accounted for 24.2 per cent of the group’s total.

Total throughput of overseas region increased by 0.7 per cent to 3,000,683 TEU and accounted for 28.6 per cent of the group’s total throughput.
