Jadrolinija signed a Letter of Intent on Investment Preparation with the International Financial Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, with the aim of supporting the development and facilitating access to commercial capital to finance the renewal of the fleet of the Croatian national shipping company.
The signing took place after several months of intense collaboration with representatives from the IFC and the World Bank, during which the financing conditions for the investment program were defined according to the company’s development needs and priorities.
This collaboration represents an important step towards the implementation of the fleet renewal plan, and the signed Letter of Intent firmly confirms the confidence that international financial institutions place in Jadrolinija’s strategic development.
The collaboration will provide support for the transformation and modernization of the fleet, with an emphasis on sustainability, energy efficiency, and the green transition.
During the ceremony, the President of the Board of Jadrolinija, Robert Blazinovic, stated that “the signing of this Letter of Intent is an important milestone for Jadrolinija and confirms that we are on the right track to achieve our goals. The cooperation with the IFC and the World Bank is solid proof of trust in our strategy and an additional incentive for the implementation of the planned investments.”
“This partnership is an important step in boosting Croatia’s green transition. By supporting Jadrolinija, we help the country reduce CO2 emissions, strengthen sustainable infrastructure, and mobilize private capital to reduce pressure on public finances,” said Marcelo Castellanos, IFC Senior Manager for Southeast Europe.
