Fincantieri strengthens its long-standing collaboration with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) thanks to a new order for the construction of an ultra-luxury cruise ship for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand. The value of the order, subject to financing and other typical terms and conditions for this type of contract, is defined as large (for Fincantieri, a “large” agreement in the cruise sector represents an agreement with a value between 500 million and 1 billion euros).
The delivery of the unit is scheduled for 2033. It will be the sister ship of the Seven Seas Prestige, the first of the new Prestige class, currently under construction at the Marghera shipyard and scheduled for delivery in 2026. A second unit of the same class is already planned for 2030.
With a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and a length of 257 meters, the new ship will be able to accommodate 822 passengers, offering one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry. The design combines elegance and refinement with the most advanced environmental technologies, confirming the Group’s constant focus on sustainable innovation.
The partnership between Fincantieri and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. is confirmed as one of the most solid and long-lasting in the sector: the Group has already built ten ships for the various brands of NCLH, and as confirmation of this consolidated trust, the current order portfolio includes thirteen additional units, destined to further strengthen the fleet. These new builds involve all the group’s brands – Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises – and represent a further step in shared growth, the result of a collaboration distinguished by continuity, strategic vision and the ability to evolve together with the needs of the global market.
