People’s Daily Online Chongqing, June 20 (Liu Zhengning, Yao Yu) Chongqing Cultural Tourism Group News: During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the luxury cruise ship “Yangtze River Memory” recently embarked on its inaugural long-distance round trip from Chongqing to Wuhan. This new route offers a 6-day, 5-night immersive journey, taking passengers on a complete traverse of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, allowing them to fully appreciate the natural splendor of the Yangtze in one go.

It is understood that domestic Three Gorges cruises are mostly short-distance routes from Chongqing to Yichang, with most journeys ending in the Three Gorges reservoir area. Very few cruise ships cross the Three Gorges Dam to continue eastward. This time, the “Yangtze River Memory” cruise breaks through the limitations of traditional routes, not only completely traversing Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge to fully enjoy the majestic and beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges, but also passing through the five-step dual-lane ship lock of the Three Gorges Dam and the Gezhouba Dam. Passengers can immersively experience the entire operation process of the world-class water conservancy project, where “the boat rises with the water and falls with the water.”

A relevant person in charge of Chongqing Cultural Tourism Group introduced that this Yangtze River journey breaks the single sightseeing model, deeply integrating natural landscapes, profound historical heritage, and rich folk customs. Passengers can stop at the thousand-year-old Poetry City, Baidi City, or enjoy an exclusive arranged shore excursion to visit Yueyang Tower, one of the three famous towers south of the Yangtze River. They can also transfer to a small cruise ship to delve into the secret realm of Badong Shennong Stream, exploring the pristine canyon scenery rarely visited by people.

As a high-end themed cruise, the “Yangtze River Memory” takes humanities as its core and service as its foundation, also incorporating warmth and texture into the details of the journey. For example, the entire voyage provides exquisite and abundant Chinese and Western buffet cuisine. Every morning, a special morning health Qigong Baduanjin activity is set up. Exclusively created series of themed cultural salons such as “Yangtze River Story Gathering” and “Three Gorges Shipping History” are offered, paired with special time-sharing sessions. Through professional explanations and fun sharing, it unpacks the thousand-year history of the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges shipping culture, making the journey not just about sightseeing, but also about depth.
