On July 16, the keel-laying milestone for Hull No. 85, a 115,000-ton product oil tanker built by CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry’s DSIC (Tianjin) for Greece’s Cape Shipping, was achieved seven days ahead of the annual schedule.

The vessel has an overall length of 249.80 meters, a beam of 44.00 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, a design draft of 13.75 meters, and a structural draft of 15.25 meters. With a design speed of 14.5 knots and a deadweight tonnage of 114,800 tons, its cargo holds can carry over 800,000 barrels of crude oil products. Both the main engine and generators comply with the International Maritime Organization’s Tier III emission standards.

During construction, DSIC (Tianjin) assembled a specialized technical team to address engineering challenges through in-depth discussions with the shipowner and classification society. By optimizing production planning, the team effectively reduced construction costs while ensuring the project progressed on schedule.
