Investment of one billion dollars, over 1600 workers involved in the construction of the project

Dakhla – The construction of the Dakhla Atlantic Port has reached the 50% completion milestone, marking a fundamental step for what is considered one of Morocco’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. The project, the cornerstone of the ‘Vision 2030’ launched by King Mohammed VI, aims to transform the southern provinces into an economic and logistics hub of continental importance, strengthening Morocco’s position as a bridge towards West Africa and America.
The investment in the project is colossal, amounting to a figure of around one billion dollars (approximately 10-12 billion Moroccan dirhams), destined to create an integrated port complex capable of handling millions of tons of goods per year and serving as a strategic point for export.
Construction work began in October 2021 and, according to the official schedule, currently requires the mobilization of approximately 1,600 people, including managers, engineers, and workers. The structural completion of the port is expected by 2028, with the commissioning of the first operational structures scheduled for 2029 and the achievement of full operational capacity by 2030.
