Recently, Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry successfully completed the repair project of the bulk carrier “Shunfuda”, and the vessel set sail two days ahead of schedule.
The repair project included the renewal of the inner bottom plates in multiple cargo holds, oil cleaning of the fuel oil tanks, and the overhaul of core mechanical and electrical equipment such as the main engine and generators.
During the dock construction phase, engineering personnel discovered cracks in the outer bottom plate of the ballast tank during on-site inspection, posing a risk of leakage. The general management team immediately initiated an emergency response plan, coordinated and allocated various construction resources, and efficiently completed the emergency repair operations; the oil cleaning of the fuel oil tanks was completed to a high standard in less than one day; the steel structure renewal work for the outer plates adopted a continuous non-stop operation mode to ensure the vessel’s undocking milestone was met.
