China News Service, Fuzhou, June 23 (Ye Qiuyun) On the afternoon of the 23rd, the Malaysian-flagged vessel “Brilliant Wisdom,” loaded with approximately 60,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG), completed its operations and departed from Xiuyu Port Area in Putian City under the supervision of immigration management police from the Putian Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station.

On the same day, a press conference on “Accelerating the Construction of World-Class Ports and Promoting the Integrated Development of Port, Shipping, and Trade” was held in Fuzhou. It was disclosed at the meeting that, with the approval of the Fujian Provincial Government, the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation and two other departments jointly issued the “Several Measures to Accelerate the Construction of World-Class Ports and Promote the Integrated Development of Port, Shipping, and Trade,” aiming to build a modern southeast coastal port cluster that connects both sides of the Taiwan Strait, links the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and radiates to the central and western regions.

In recent years, Fujian’s transportation departments have continuously increased infrastructure investment, completing a number of ultra-large deep-water berths such as the Luoyu 400,000-ton iron ore terminal, achieving an actual port throughput capacity of 890 million tons, capable of accommodating all major global ship types. Currently, Fujian Province has opened 314 container liner routes, reaching over 60 countries and regions, radiating to more than 160 ports, and supporting over 90% of the province’s import and export foreign trade cargo.

Lei Wenzhong, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Transportation, stated that in the next step, incentive measures will continue to be adopted to increase short-sea routes to Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and other regions, consolidate and expand deep-sea trunk routes to Europe, the Americas, and Africa, promote route coverage to major global trade hub ports, achieve more efficient logistics and smoother cargo import and export, and build the “Maritime Silk Road Shipping” into a golden brand for “buying globally and selling globally.” (End)
