The agreement reflects deugro’s commitment to delivering tailored logistics solutions for the renewable energy industry.

deugro Germany, a highly specialized freight forwarder for industrial projects, has agreed with J. Muller, the local port and terminal operator, following an award for the handling and storage of wind turbine components at the Port of Brake.

The agreement combines deugro’s expertise as a leading project logistics provider and a pioneer in wind energy transportation – leveraging over 20 years of experience in delivering wind energy projects across the globe – with the advanced infrastructure of the Port of Brake and its local partner’s long-standing experience as a leading specialist port service provider on Germany’s North Sea coastline.

The port offers state-of-the-art transshipment capabilities, expansive storage areas, and specialized equipment for handling complex breakbulk cargo, including heavy lift quays, crane capacities, extensive laydown areas, and customized exit routes for trucks. Moreover, the port’s deep draft of 11.90 metres and berth capacity for vessels up to 275 metres in length make it ideally suited for handling oversized cargo.

deugro – J. Muller’s collaboration ensures the efficient unloading, shifting, and storage of rotor blades and other wind and renewable energy components. It marks a significant milestone in supporting the logistics requirements of the renewable energy sector, particularly for the import of wind turbine blades into the German market.

Christian Schulz, Vice President Global Strategic Accounts at deugro, said the agreement reflects their commitment to delivering tailored logistics solutions for the renewable energy industry. “Brake’s strategic location and the operational excellence of our local port handling partner provide the ideal setup for the efficient and secure handling of wind turbine components destined for project sites across Germany and beyond.”

Simon Junker, Head of Renewable Energy, Onshore Wind and Cable at deugro, added that this partnership strengthens their role in the wind energy supply chain and supports Germany’s transition to sustainable energy.
