Deugro relies on HLV Hilke’s flexibility to move project cargo to Singapore

Must read

Flexibility in unique circumstances is what project logistics giant deugro required when it looked to transport a 600 mt riser pulling system from Trieste in Italy to Singapore. The company relied on the capabilities of the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance to get the job done.

deugro hired the alliance’s heavy lift vessel Hilke to complete the delivery. For the cargo itself, it was delivered on a frame, resulting in a vast required lifting height of more than 28 metres over the pier at an outreach of more than 17 metres.

This was the reason why one of Jumbo-SAL-Alliance’s type 116 vessels was the perfect fit, easily providing the adequate lifting height and stability required to perform a safe and efficient loading and discharging procedure with a tailor-made weight spreading system.

Type 116 vessels are all 10,000 dwt, equipped with two 450-ton cranes combinable up to 900 tons and a cargo hold of 15,700 cubic metres. Since the job for deugro, the vessel has been active in Asia Pacific and according to the AIS data is currently moored in the Port of Masan in South Korea.
