Diana Shipping Inc. announced the signing of a USD 55 million six-year secured term loan with National Bank of Greece SA.
The total amount was drawn immediately and its maturity date was set for September 2031, with five vessels pledged as collateral.
Ioannis Zafirakis, an executive of the shipping company, stated that “through this strategic transaction, the company reaffirms its commitment to optimizing its capital structure, while enhancing its operational and investment flexibility.”
It is worth noting that the Diana Shipping fleet currently consists of 36 bulk carriers and expects to receive two new vessels of the same type, powered by methanol and dual fuel, for the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively.
