The Port Authority of Sitia was informed by the Unified Coordination Center for Search and Rescue (U.C.C.S.R.) H.C.G.-H.N.C.G. that a 64-year-old foreign passenger (German national) aboard the cruise ship (C/S) “AIDASTELLA” under the Italian flag, which was sailing in the sea area 6 nautical miles southwest of the island of Kasos, required immediate hospital care.
The C/S sailed into the Bay of Sitia and the 64-year-old was transferred to the fishing (F/V) vessel “MANOLIO” P. Sitia. 724 and was transported, accompanied by a doctor and members of the Port Authority, to the port of Sitia. He was then transferred by an EKAB ambulance to the General Hospital-Health Center of Sitia, while the C/S departed for its destination.
-The Port Authority of Alexandroupoli was informed about an injury to a 56-year-old mooring man. Specifically, during the mooring procedure of a passenger-car carrier (/C) ship in the port of Alexandroupoli, a rope (vily) of the ship struck the 56-year-old’s protective helmet as it fell, causing abrasions to his head. The injured person was transferred by an EKAB ambulance to the University General Hospital of Alexandroupoli to receive medical care. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Alexandroupoli.
