Recently, the vessel “Huizhong 8” berthed at the Yitui Container Terminal in the Dongying Port Area of Shandong Port Bohai Bay Port, marking the official opening of the container shipping route from the Bohai Bay Port Dongying Port Area to Yantai Port. This new container route not only builds a maritime bridge between Northern Shandong and the Jiaodong Peninsula but also injects strong momentum into the regional industrial and supply chains.

The newly opened Dongying-Yantai container route was jointly established by Bohai Bay Port in cooperation with COSCO Shipping Lines and Shandong Ocean Shipping Group, with a one-way voyage taking only 14 hours. Cargo from the hinterland can be shipped directly from Dongying Port Area to Yantai Port, and then, leveraging Yantai Port’s hub advantages, transshipped to various domestic coastal ports and international ports such as Japan and South Korea. Compared to traditional transportation models, the new route will effectively reduce the comprehensive logistics costs for hinterland enterprises, providing a more convenient and economical logistics option for “outbound” goods from enterprises in Dongying and surrounding areas.

It is understood that the Yitui Container Terminal in Dongying Port Area is located in the core area of the Northern Shandong High-end Petrochemical Industry Base. The surrounding area has a concentration of petrochemical industries, and new materials and new energy industries are rapidly establishing themselves, creating an increasingly urgent demand for logistics related to raw material imports and finished product exports. Adhering to the development philosophy of “Three More, Three Satisfactions,” Bohai Bay Port is closely following the development plan of Dongying Port Economic Development Zone. Seizing the opportunity presented by the new route, it aims to build a comprehensive container service platform, promote port-city integrated development, and erect a “maritime bridge” for local industrial upgrading and economic development. In the next step, Bohai Bay Port will anchor its efforts on the攻坚 targets of the “Five Major Battles,” closely monitor the logistics needs of hinterland enterprises, continuously increase flight frequency, promote the route towards “weekly and regular” operation, further optimize operational processes, enhance service efficiency, fully ensure smooth and efficient logistics channels, support the development of hinterland enterprises with concrete actions, and contribute greater port strength to the coordinated progress of the regional economy.
