DP World obtained certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its cargo transport operations in Panama, enabling faster, safer, and fully compliant air cargo movements through one of the region’s most strategic logistics hubs.

This certification confirms that DP World’s freight transport division, based in Panama, meets IATA global standards for the safe and efficient handling of air cargo, reinforcing operational excellence and regulatory compliance across all international supply chains.

As part of DP World’s broader logistics network, this enables fully integrated end-to-end supply chain solutions, seamlessly connecting air, sea, and land transport services across major regional and global trade corridors.

This milestone adds to DP World’s ongoing investment in Panama as a strategic logistics hub, including the recent opening of a new customs warehouse designed to optimize cargo consolidation, storage, and distribution in the region. The company also obtained IATA certification for air cargo services in Brazil earlier last year.

Manuel Martínez, Managing Director of DP World in the Dominican Republic, stated that “this certification reflects our ongoing commitment to building a reliable, standardized, and highly competitive logistics platform across the Americas. Aligning our freight transport operations with IATA global standards strengthens our ability to provide customers with safe, compliant, and efficient air cargo solutions that complement our port and logistics ecosystem.”

The certification process included a thorough evaluation of DP World’s operational procedures, infrastructure, security controls, traceability systems, and regulatory compliance governance.
