DP World Canada has launched a $150 million canola oil transload facility at its Fraser Surrey terminal, capable of exporting one million tonnes of canola oil annually. Built in partnership with Richardson International, which will use most of the storage capacity, the facility connects Prairie production directly to global shipping markets, streamlining exports through dedicated rail unloading and pipeline vessel loading. While US demand remains strong despite policy changes, China’s 100% tariff has curtailed access, leaving Richardson to explore new buyers. DP World has already loaded four vessels and is preparing to scale to one ship per week, with a second project phase under consideration to expand into other edible oils.
