The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced that the Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Matteo Salvini, has signed the decree appointing Doctor Eliseo Cuccaro as the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority, based in Naples.
The commissioner assignment, effective from the upcoming October 7, is aimed at ensuring administrative continuity and the full operability of the Authority until the restoration of the ordinary governing bodies.
The Ministry extends its sincere thanks to lawyer Andrea Annunziata for the work carried out and the commitment dedicated to the regular management of port activities in recent months.
The Mit reiterates its commitment to ensuring the management continuity of the country’s strategic ports and confirms the centrality of the Central Tyrrhenian port system within the national logistics and infrastructure framework.
Andrea Annunziata, the outgoing extraordinary commissioner of the same Campanian port authority, has resigned from his position effective from the upcoming October 7. “Thanks,” Annunziata said, “to the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, and the Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi for the trust placed in me. The work done in these four years, besides achieving important results, has created all the prerequisites for outlining a bright future for the ports of Naples, Salerno and Castellammare di Stabia. The approval of the strategic planning document of the Adsp of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea and the three port master plans are essential tools to support the growth of these ports. In particular, with the interventions financed by the Pnrr (with some construction sites closed ahead of schedule) and the works that are accompanying the ecological transition, in the coming years, the competitiveness of the ports in the system will increase even further.” Annunziata concluded by adding: “As I had the opportunity to reiterate in my resignation letter to Minister Salvini, I am and remain available to accompany the transition of the new governance, starting with the handover to Doctor Eliseo Cuccaro, to whom I extend my most sincere wishes for good work.”
