Ellerman City Liners, part of GB Global, has acquired Viasea Shipping, a Norway-based short-sea shipping operator, from ColliCare Holding. The acquisition cost was not disclosed. Founded in 2016, Viasea operates regular lines between the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, and Lithuania. Iain Liddell, founder of GB Global, highlighted the strategic importance of the merger, stating: “This acquisition was made not just with a growth objective, but with the aim of moving short-sea shipping into the future. By combining Ellerman’s strong UK experience with Viasea’s agile operational network and sustainable solutions, we are creating a faster, more reliable, and greener transportation network across Europe.”
