Europort Rotterdam 2025, one of the world’s leading maritime fairs, has opened its doors.
The fair, organized by Ahoy Rotterdam, is expected to host over 1,000 participating companies from more than 100 countries and over 25,000 sector professionals.
At the fair, where participants will have the opportunity to establish new connections, conferences, seminars, panels, award ceremonies, and social events will be organized.
Turkey will achieve its highest participation to date this year with nearly 100 companies. With the support of the Yacht and Ship Services Exporters’ Association (GYHİB) and the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GİSBİR), Turkish companies will be present both in individual stands and in the Turkey Pavilion, showcasing Turkey’s shipbuilding and ancillary industry power in the international arena.
7Deniz Magazine is also among the media partners of the fair.
The opening ceremony of the fair, which will continue until November 7, was held.
The opening summit, which drew parallels between the turbulent and uncertain, yet also creativity and opportunity-rich 1920s and today, began with insights from AerogridUAV’s co-founder and CEO Jack Hayton and Job Withaar on the maritime industry’s latest drone technology. Subsequently, Bob Nolet, the 11th-generation member of the Nolet Family Distillery, gave a speech on turning challenges into opportunities by finding different ways of doing business.
In a panel with maritime experts, Multraship Towage & Salvage CEO Leendert Muller, Damen Shipyards Group Vice President Martin Bloem, China Innovation Expert and author Pascal Coppens, and Foreship Ltd. CTO Jan-Erik Räsänen assessed the impact of global disruptions on the sector and the future of maritime transport.
The Netherlands Maritime Sector Special Representative Marja van Bijsterveldt also gave a speech sharing her thoughts on the need for collaboration between the sector and the government to ensure security, prosperity, and sustainability.
