Explosions on two tankers in the Black Sea – Ukraine claimed responsibility

The Ministry of Transport of Turkey stated that one of the two empty oil tankers that were hit by explosions in the Black Sea late yesterday Friday was attacked again early this morning Saturday, blaming an unmanned marine vehicle. The crew members of both ships were reported to be safe.

Yesterday morning, the Elefsina Port Authority was informed of an incident involving the partial sinking of a Passenger-Scheduled (P/S-S) vessel which was moored in the marine area of Vlycha Elefsinas.

Turkey launched a rescue mission after reports of explosions and fire on two tankers in the Black Sea.

The Chalkida Port Authority was informed of a collision incident between two cargo ships (C/S) within the commercial port of Chalkida.

Today at noon, the Chania Port Authority was informed by the Unified Coordination Center for Search and Rescue of the H.C.G. (UCCSR) that a 22-year-old foreigner (Russian citizen), a crew member of a Russian-flagged tanker, which was located 55 nautical miles southwest of Crete, required immediate hospital care.

This morning, the Kythira Port Authority was informed of the inability of the passenger-car carrier (P/C-C) ship “PORFYROUSA” H.S. 11732 to approach the port of Antikythera due to adverse weather conditions.
