On July 14, reporters learned from a regular press conference held by the State Post Bureau that in the first half of this year, the industry supported the strategy of expanding domestic demand, driving the continuous release of online consumption demand. Preliminary statistics show that express delivery revenue exceeded 700 billion yuan, and express delivery volume is estimated to surpass 95 billion pieces, with year-on-year growth of approximately 8.5% and 19%, respectively.

Zhu Li, Deputy Director of the Industrial Economics Research Department at the State Post Bureau’s Development Research Center, stated that in the first half of the year, express delivery companies focused on enhancing the capacity of the delivery service network by establishing additional express collection centers, setting up transit warehouses, adding high-speed rail express lines, expanding air transport networks, and optimizing collection and transportation processes. Many local express delivery outlets upgraded automated equipment, significantly improving industry transfer efficiency and making last-mile deliveries faster. Low-altitude applications accelerated, with unmanned transport deployed in scenarios such as emergencies, cross-island, and mountainous areas, effectively promoting “air-ground coordination.”

In the first half of the year, the industry vigorously advanced the construction of rural delivery logistics systems, with nearly 90% coverage of comprehensive delivery service stations at the village level in Xinjiang. The integrated development of rural passenger, freight, and postal services deepened, with delivery volume growth in Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Xinjiang, and other regions significantly higher than the national average.

With the revision and implementation of the “Interim Regulations on Express Delivery,” the industry intensified green governance of express packaging, achieving results in multiple areas through measures such as promoting intelligent packaging recommendation algorithms, expanding the use of recyclable packaging, and actively developing green transportation. In the second half of the year, the State Post Bureau will continue to deepen the implementation of regulations and policies, guiding express delivery companies to actively innovate green and low-carbon development approaches, gradually increasing the use of green energy, optimizing delivery transportation methods, and advancing green infrastructure upgrades.
