In the first half of this year, Fangchenggang Port in Guangxi handled a cargo throughput of 102 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%, and a container throughput of 579,000 TEUs, up 23.0% year-on-year. This marks the first time the port’s semi-annual cargo throughput has exceeded 100 million tons.
Since the beginning of the year, the Fangchenggang Branch of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port Authority has focused on serving the local economy, portside industries, and maritime enterprises, aiming to build a “first-class” modern international hub port. It has pooled efforts to drive the transformation and upgrading of port construction. Guided by Party-building initiatives, the branch has deepened the integration of Party-building and business operations, striving to provide port enterprises with full-cycle, all-element, and round-the-clock services while proactively addressing their challenges. It has strengthened coordination from port planning and construction to production operations, offering technical guidance, safety supervision, and on-site services. By establishing an online-offline integrated “one-stop” port service system, the branch helped reduce the cycle from acceptance to operation of an automated dry bulk berth project to just 40 days.
Additionally, the Fangchenggang Branch’s dispatch center collaborated with multiple stakeholders to optimize vessel scheduling services. In the first half of the year, it processed over 12,000 vessel movements for arrivals, departures, and berth shifts, achieving an average pilotage plan fulfillment rate of over 90%, thereby improving scheduling efficiency.
