During the next summer, the Port of Turku will receive a total of five international cruise ships, two of which will visit the city for the first time. The season begins relatively late, when the Europa, from Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, calls at the city on July 1. This same ship will also make the last visit of the summer season, when it returns on August 29.

The Azamara Journey, from Azamara Cruises, will make its first call in Turku on July 17, and the Evrima, from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, on the 24th.

The Port of Turku collaborates closely with Visit Turku Archipelago to ensure that cruise operations and the passenger experience run smoothly. While the port is responsible for the technical requirements and safety of the vessels, the organization offers passengers guidance and personalized experiences ashore.

Emerging from the labyrinth of islands and islets, Turku has become an attractive cruise destination in the Baltic Sea. The Finnish port has taken care to ensure smooth port operations, from efficient disembarkation to clear passenger guidance, which has created, they point out, the ideal conditions for an unforgettable visit to the city. From the modern pier and terminal, a short and direct path leads to the city center, framed by the picturesque Aura River, lush parks, and vibrant cultural neighborhoods.

Turku Cathedral, the city museums, and the medieval castle reflect a long and complex history. At the same time, the city’s vibrant culinary scene and the leisurely pace of a university town are perceived in small but lively everyday details, making the heart of Turku welcoming and easy to explore even during a brief port call.

In addition to Turku Castle and Turku Cathedral, another favorite place is the Aboa Vetus Ars Nova museum, which uniquely combines archaeological excavations of the medieval city with contemporary art, making it especially attractive for cruise passengers interested in culture.

Beyond the traditional cultural attractions, Visit Turku Archipelago highlights the banks of the Aura River, often described as the city’s “living room.” The riverside cafés, historic museum ships, and restaurants offer an easy and charming way to enjoy Turku in a short time, making the most of every hour ashore.
