Floatel International has won a contract for the charter of its accommodation semi-submersible vessel Floatel Superior for operations in Norway in 2024
Vår Energi chartered this 2010-built vessel, which can accommodate 440 workers, to provide support for a maintenance campaign on the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit operating on Jotun oil field in the North Sea.
Floatel Superior is currently providing accommodation support to the FPSO on the Balder field, also in the Norwegian side of the North Sea.
The contract with Vår Energi has a firm charter period of five months on Jotun, starting Q3 2024, with options to extend if required.
“This contract is taken as a token of appreciation and a clear sign of the excellent co-operation between Floatel and Vår Energi during previous campaigns,” said Floatel International chief executive Peter Jacobsson.
“With this award, we are convinced the high focus on providing safe and efficient operations to our customers clearly outlines Floatel as the preferred choice for offshore accommodation services.”
Siem Offshore gained contract extensions for two of its platform supply vessels (PSVs) of STX PSV 4700 design working in Brazil.
The Oslo, Norway-listed vessel owner said it gained 12-month extensions from an unnamed energy company for 2013-built Siem Atlas and 2014-built Siem Giant.
Both 4,700-dwt, 88-m vessels have 1,000 m2 usable deck areas, clean design, Dynpos (Autr) class dynamic positioning and FiFi1 fire-fighting systems.
