Heerema has started foundation installation at the Fécamp offshore windfarm in France
The company is installing gravity-base foundations using a combination of barges and tugs that transport the foundations to the site and a heavy-lift crane vessel.
Heerema is using the crane vessel Sleipnir to undertake the installation, lowering the foundations onto the seabed, which has been prepared in advance by Boskalis.
The Fécamp offshore windfarm is located between 13 km and 22 km from the coast at Port of Fécamp. It is being developed by Enbridge and its partner EDF Renouvelables.
The 497-MW project will use 71 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy 7-MW turbines. The project is expected to enter operation in 2023.
