Goltens Worldwide and IPCO Power have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to support shipowners in achieving more efficient fuel operations.

The partnership combines IPCO Power’s fuel homogenisation technology with Goltens’ global engineering and service capabilities, offering what the firms describe as a fully integrated solution spanning 3D scanning, technical design, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle support.

“More and more often, clients are asking for complete packages, not just equipment,” said IPCO Power Managing Director Bart Sluimer. “Thanks to our partnership with Goltens, we can now deliver full-scope projects worldwide – from technical design to commissioning – that can fully unburden the customer.”

IPCO Power’s technology centres on a rotor-stator homogeniser that claims to reduce fuel droplet sizes to below 3 microns. According to the companies, this enables benefits including up to 80% sludge reduction before the separator and up to 2.5% fuel savings. Additional advantages include improved fuel stability during storage, onboard blending of different fuel types, including biofuels, and water-in-fuel emulsification for emission reduction.

The collaboration is designed to address the increasing demand for solutions that deliver efficiency and compliance, particularly for existing vessels seeking to achieve efficiency gains without major engine modifications.

“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to helping shipowners navigate the twin challenges of efficiency and decarbonisation,” said Goltens Worldwide CEO Sandeep Seth. “By combining IPCO’s proven homogenisation technology with Goltens’ global execution capabilities, we are delivering solutions that reduce costs, improve fuel flexibility, and support the transition to cleaner operations.”

Goltens operates from 28 locations in 15 countries, providing engine and turbine services, machining solutions, energy control solutions, and environmental compliance services to its clients.

IPCO Power, based in the Netherlands, develops fuel treatment systems for the maritime, power generation, and petrochemical sectors.
