Greek shipowner Spring Marine is moving into new vessel segments across both the dry bulk and tanker markets

According to multiple shipping databases, corroborated by the company’s website, the owner has added five vessels since the beginning of the year.

In its latest acquisitions, Spring Marine Bulk – the group’s dry bulk division – has emerged as the new owner of 2011-built, 104,989-dwt mini-Capesize Teide, formerly known as FPMC B 104.

The deal marks the company’s second acquisition in the mini-Capesize segment following the addition of 2011-built Astraka at the end of 2025. Spring Marine Bulk also controls three more Capesize bulk carriers built between 2010 and 2011, with its first bulker acquisition dating back to 2020.

In the tanker market – the group’s core business – Spring Marine has also entered the LR2 segment through the en bloc acquisition of 2012-built Limbo and Macarena, previously trading as FS Endeavor and FS Diligence.

Shipbrokers reported earlier this year that the pair changed hands for about US$43M each.

The Greek owner has also spent close to US$28M to acquire 2012-built MR2 tanker Ikariotikos (ex High Seas), while paying around US$44M for 2017-built LR1 tanker Rock n Roll (ex Aristarchos).

Spring Marine’s tanker fleet now consists of 29 vessels, the majority of which have joined the fleet since 2023.

Beyond its aggressive secondhand expansion, the company has also been linked in recent years to several profitable asset plays, offloading vessels at significantly higher prices than their original acquisition costs.
