A delegation from the Bripaem Group, a regional public-private alliance that promotes economic and logistical cooperation between countries of the Southern Cone, visited Puerto Antofagasta to learn about its infrastructure and the strategic projects that strengthen connectivity through the Bioceanic Corridor.

During the day, the representatives toured the La Negra Logistics Platform, one of the cornerstones of the 2023–2033 Master Plan, which consolidates the port’s leadership as an international exchange logistics hub.

Subsequently, the delegation participated in a working meeting with the Regional Government of Antofagasta, reaffirming the relevance of public-private collaboration for the development of modern and sustainable infrastructure in northern Chile.

“We are impressed with the neatness and with everything Chile is building for this great oceanic corridor. We take away a very positive image of Puerto Antofagasta and its logistical work. This shows that integration is built by everyone, from the public and private sectors,” said Ramón Ortellado, general secretary of Bripaem.

For his part, the Argentine businessman Abel Eduardo Bonín, a representative of the poultry sector, highlighted the scale and planning of the port system. “We haven’t finished the tour yet and we are already surprised, the magnitude of the ports is impressive. I am thinking about how all this can be brought together and studying the projects that the Chileans are developing. It is remarkable to see how they work with planning and order,” he said.

The general manager of Puerto Antofagasta, Carlos Escobar Rojas, valued the visit as an opportunity for international projection. “Hosting the Bripaem Group reaffirms the role of Puerto Antofagasta as a key logistics node of the Bioceanic Corridor. Our infrastructure and strategic planning are aimed at strengthening the connection between the Pacific and the Atlantic, enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of northern Chile,” he stated.
