On November 25, at the D-area wharf of Guangdong COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, the No. 1 vessel N1246, a 53.4-meter full-revolving pushboat, slowly moved along the launching slideway into the launching barge, successfully completing the launching operation. Representatives from the shipowner, ship surveyors, leaders from relevant departments, and project team members gathered at the scene to witness this moment.

This tugboat has an overall length of 53.4 meters, a molded breadth of 16 meters, and a molded depth of 8 meters. It is classed by ABS and commenced construction on April 9 this year. After being articulated with a 20K transshipment barge using push equipment, it can remotely control loading and unloading operations from the tugboat. Its power system utilizes four main generators, each with a maximum power of 1980KW, and two full-revolving thrusters. It is also equipped with a bow thruster, push equipment, and a main towing winch, making it suitable for high-precision towing tasks in complex sea conditions.

Given the characteristics of numerous equipment and limited space on this vessel, Guangdong COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry collaborated with the shipowner and ship surveyors to conduct multiple rounds of technical discussions. They optimized construction techniques to overcome construction constraints and steadily advanced the completeness of hull sections. This successful launching has laid a solid foundation for the project’s on-time delivery.
