On October 9, the first workday after the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, the No. 2 49,500 deadweight ton /product oil tanker, built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) subsidiary Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for the well-known German shipping company LEONHARDT & BLUMBERG (L&B), successfully commenced construction.
The 49,500 deadweight ton /product oil tanker that commenced construction is a new generation MR-type tanker independently developed by Guangzhou Shipyard International. It has an overall length of 183 meters, a breadth of 32 meters, and a structural draft of 13.3 meters. Its service speed is 14.5 knots, and it is预留 methanol dual-fuel drive functionality. It is equipped with an open-loop scrubber, and its emission standards meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO) TIER Ⅲ standard. Its EEDI energy efficiency index meets the Phase 3 requirements. The vessel features fast speed, light lightship weight, low energy consumption, and strong adaptability. In terms of energy consumption indicators, environmental performance, and reliability requirements, it has reached the leading level among ships of the same type.
