On May 12, the 50,000-ton methanol dual-fuel oil tanker No. 1 “LARGO ARIES”, built by CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International for JP Morgan, completed the signing and delivery. The entire construction process of the vessel achieved milestones ahead of schedule and repeatedly broke records, setting a new record for the shortest construction cycle of the company’s methanol dual-fuel MR tanker type. With excellent quality and astonishing construction speed, it added another重磅 good news to the “double half-time” production and operation.
Since the start of construction, the project team has scientifically coordinated production processes and meticulously controlled the construction pace. All construction personnel united their efforts, overcame difficulties, raced against time, ensured milestones, and improved efficiency, advancing with firm steps and taking the lead across the board, delivering an excellent answer sheet with both speed and quality.
Before the vessel was launched, the project for the first time comprehensively and accurately implemented the lean subject of moving the commissioning process steps forward to before the launch. After the vessel was successfully launched, the project team advanced efficiently and completed the two major milestones of cargo oil system acid flushing and light ship test to a high standard in a short time, setting the fastest record for achieving these milestones after launch; the main engine was started on the 10th day after launch, achieving another hardcore breakthrough; the vessel docked at the pier for only three weeks before successfully sailing for sea trials, achieving a new speed for sea trials of the same type of vessel; during the sea trial phase, all test tasks were completed ahead of schedule and efficiently, successfully fulfilling the substantial ship sealing plan, achieving excellent results of sealing the ship within a short period after launch.
From vessel launch, system commissioning, main engine start, to short-term pier docking, sea trial sailing, on-time ship sealing, and final delivery—every key milestone achieved ahead of schedule embodies the sweat and dedication of the project team and various departments working in coordination; every construction speed that breaks records demonstrates the meticulous shipbuilding craftsmanship and efficient and excellent project management level.
The successful delivery of “LARGO ARIES”, with its excellent quality and delivery speed, has won high recognition from the shipowner and classification society.
