Gulfport Port celebrates inclusion in American Cruise Line itineraries

Must read

American Cruise Line introduced a new Gulf Coast cruise, beginning in March 2026, with additional dates planned for December 2026, March 2027, and December 2027, which contemplates a route between Pensacola, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana, with an overnight stop at the Port of Gulfport, in Mississippi, from where they celebrate the decision.

“This partnership with American Cruise Lines demonstrates our strength as an active port and a welcoming gateway for visitors. By attracting travelers to Gulfport, American helps us boost local tourism and showcase the hospitality and charm of the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” stated Jon Nass, executive director of the Port of Gulfport.

“American Cruise Lines is pleased to offer new domestic river cruises along the Gulf Coast. The stunning shores, rich history, and vibrant communities of the area provide incredible opportunities for small ship sailing, and we are eager to explore it all with our guests in 2026,” declared Alexa Paolella, Public Relations Manager for ACL.

“We look forward to welcoming American and sharing the heart of the Gulf Coast with its passengers. I want to thank Coastal Mississippi for its contribution to the development of this collaboration and to attracting more visitors to the area. Their efforts will allow passengers to experience all that Gulfport and the Mississippi Gulf Coast have to offer, while strengthening our local and state economy,” stated the Mayor of Gulfport, Hugh Keating.

The program marks a milestone for the port, by introducing passengers to the vibrant tourism scene of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Guests will enjoy Gulfport’s boardwalk, restaurants, and cultural attractions, which consolidates the city’s growing role as a regional destination.

Passengers arriving in Gulfport will travel aboard the American Symphony, part of American’s fleet of modern, technologically advanced small ships, flying the U.S. flag. Built in 2022, the ship has a capacity for 180 passengers and is equipped with the most modern safety and navigation systems.
